Removing test gift cards before you launch

Delete test gift cards (one at a time or a whole batch) so they're removed from reporting, set to $0 in every connected sales channel and don't count toward your allowance. Compares Delete, Void and Hide from reporting, and explains who can do it.

Updated September 19, 2026

To keep test gift cards out of your reports, delete them: open the card, open the More actions () menu and choose Delete gift card. Deleting sets the card's balance to $0 in Wrapped and in every connected sales channel, removes it from your gift card list and reporting, and stops it counting toward your gift card allowance. It can't be undone. If you created your test cards as a batch, you can delete the whole batch at once.

Delete, void or hide: which to use

For test cards, Delete is almost always the right choice. Use Void for a real card that should stop working but stay on record. See Void or delete a gift card and Hide a gift card from reporting.

Delete a single test gift card

    1. Go to Gift cards › All gift cards.
    2. Find the card. Search by code, or by the email address you used when testing.
    3. Open the card.
    4. Open the More actions () menu at the top right and choose Delete gift card.
    5. Confirm with Delete gift card.

The balance is set to $0 in each connected sales channel straight away, and the card disappears from your list. Reports drop it at their next refresh, within about 2 hours. See How often reports update.

The confirmation says the card will be deleted in every sales channel. In fact, Wrapped sets the card's balance to $0 in each channel. It doesn't remove the card from Shopify, Lightspeed or your other systems.

Delete a batch of test gift cards

If you created test cards with Batches (generated codes or a CSV import), delete them together:

    1. Go to Gift cards › Batches.
    2. Open the actions menu () on the batch and choose Delete batch.
    3. Confirm with Delete batch.

Every gift card in the batch is deleted in the background, so large batches can take a few minutes. Each card is set to $0 in your connected sales channels, like a single delete.

Deleting a batch affects every card in it. Only delete a batch that contains test cards and nothing else. If real cards are mixed in, delete the test cards one at a time.

When to do it

Delete test cards before you disconnect your test sales channels. That way each card's balance is also set to $0 in the test channel. Deleting them afterwards still removes them from Wrapped and your reports, but the copy in the disconnected channel isn't changed. See the Go-live checklist.

Who can delete gift cards

Owners, Admins and Members can delete and void gift cards. Read-only users can't. See Team members and roles.

Common questions

Does the customer get an email when I delete or void a card?

No gift card email is sent. If the card was added to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, the pass updates to show the new $0 balance.

I voided my test cards. Are they still in my reports?

Yes. Voided cards stay in your gift card list and reports. To remove a test card from reporting, delete it instead. You can delete a card that's already voided.

Can I get a deleted gift card back?

No. Deleting can't be undone, and the card no longer appears in your gift card list. If you delete a real card by mistake, contact the Wrapped team.

Do my test cards count toward my allowance?

Cards activated during your free trial don't count. Cards you delete or void don't count, as long as you remove them in the same billing period. Hidden cards still count. See How the monthly gift card allowance works.

I tested on my live store with a real redemption. Should I delete that card?

If it was a test card you issued, yes. If you redeemed part of a real customer's card to test, don't delete it. Use Adjust balance to put the amount back. See Adjust a gift card's balance.

Will deleting test cards remove the test orders from my Shopify or POS reports?

No. Wrapped only changes its own records and the gift card balance in each channel. Orders stay in your POS or online store's own reports.
