Batches: create many gift cards at once

How to generate many gift cards with the same value, import cards from a CSV file, export a batch's codes, make a printable PDF, delete a batch, and what batch statuses and columns mean.

Updated September 19, 2026

Gift cards › Batches lets you create lots of gift cards in one go. Generate codes makes any number of new cards with the same value, for corporate gifting, staff rewards, campaigns or printed cards. Import a CSV file brings in cards you already have. Each batch keeps its cards together, so you can export their codes, make a printable PDF, see how much has been spent, or delete them all at once.

Generate a batch of gift cards

    1. Go to Gift cards › Batches and click Create batch.
    2. Choose Generate codes and click Next.
    3. Enter a Batch name (required), for example "Staff Christmas 2026".
    4. Enter the Value of each card. Enter 0 for cards that will be loaded later, such as printed cards sold at the register.
    5. Enter the Number of cards (a whole number, 1 or more).
    6. Turn on Promotional if the cards are for promotions rather than sale.
    7. Optionally open Advanced settings to change the Reason or choose an Expiry: No expiry date or Expires on a date.
    8. Click Create batch.

You'll see "Batch created. It's being processed — the cards appear as they're made." Codes follow your code format in Settings › Gift card rules.

What generated cards do

Value of each cardWhat happens
More than 0Each card is active straight away, created in every connected sales channel and counts toward your gift card allowance. No emails are sent, because batch cards have no recipient.
0Cards are saved with an Empty status. They aren't created in your sales channels and don't count toward your allowance until value is loaded, for example when sold at the register or loaded with Issue gift card. See Generate gift card codes for a printer.

If you chose No expiry date and your account has a default expiry, each card gets the default expiry counted from when it's first loaded with value.

Import a batch from a CSV file

Choose Import a CSV file instead of Generate codes. See Import existing gift cards from a CSV file for the columns and options.

Download import reportFor CSV imports, the outcome of every row.
Delete batchDeletes every card in the batch (see below).

Delete a batch

    1. Click next to the batch and choose Delete batch.
    2. Confirm with Delete batch.

You'll see "Batch deleted. Its gift cards are being voided in the background." Every card in the batch is set to $0 in Wrapped and in each sales channel, and removed from your gift card list and reporting, the same as deleting a single card. It can't be undone from the Batches page. See Void or delete a gift card.

Common questions

How many cards can I generate?

There's no set limit on the number of cards, but a printable PDF is limited to 500 cards per batch. Large batches take longer to process, because each card with a value is created in every sales channel.

Do batch cards count toward my plan?

Cards with a value count when they're created. $0 cards count in the billing period they're first loaded. See How the monthly gift card allowance works.

Can I email the cards in a batch to customers?

Generated batch cards have no recipients, so Wrapped doesn't email them. To send promotional gift cards to a list of customers, see Gift card marketing campaigns. You can also export the codes and send them yourself.

Can I add cards to an existing batch?

No. Create a new batch. Importing a code that already exists with Update the existing card moves that card into the new batch.

The batch has been processing for a long time

Big batches and imports can take several hours. If a batch still shows Processing the next day, contact support with the batch name.
