Each Wrapped plan includes a number of new gift card activations in every billing period: 50 a month on Basic, 200 on Pro and 500 on Plus (or 600, 2,400 and 6,000 a year on annual billing). A gift card counts once, in the billing period it's first activated with a balance. Gift cards beyond your allowance aren't blocked. On monthly plans each extra card is charged at your plan's overage rate; on annual plans extra cards are handled as agreed with the Wrapped team.

When the allowance resets
- Monthly plans: the allowance resets at the start of each monthly billing period.
- Annual plans: you get the whole year's allowance at the start of the year. Busy months, such as November and December, draw on the year's total rather than a single month's.
- Unused allowance doesn't roll over to the next month or year.
Your billing period runs from the date your subscription started, not from the first of the calendar month. To see your current period, go to Settings › Plan and billing and look at Billing period.
What counts toward the allowance
A gift card counts when it's activated with a balance during your billing period. It doesn't matter how the card was created or how many sales channels it syncs to.

Wrapped recounts your gift cards every day during the billing period, and only active cards are included. So if you void or delete a card during the billing period, it drops out of that period's count.
Void or delete test gift cards rather than hiding them from reporting. Hidden cards still count. Deleted and voided cards don't. See Void or delete a gift card and Removing test gift cards before you launch.
Imported gift cards
- During your free trial, importing your existing gift cards is free: cards imported during the trial don't count.
- After your trial, a card you import with a balance is activated in Wrapped when you import it, so it usually counts in that billing period. Your plan includes a free self-managed migration import, so if you need to migrate a large number of existing cards after your trial has ended, contact the Wrapped team before you import.

Printed gift cards
Wrapped doesn't print cards, but you can generate codes for your printer. Those codes have no balance, so they don't count when you create them or order the cards. Each card counts in the billing period it's first loaded with value, for example when it's sold at the register. See Generate gift card codes for a printer.
Planning for a busy month
Say you're on monthly Basic and expect to sell 180 gift cards in December:
- Basic includes 50, so 130 cards are extra: 130 × $0.50 = $65 on top of the $49 plan fee, charged on your next month's bill.
- Pro includes 200, so there would be no extra cards and the total would be $99.
You have three options for a busy season:
- Stay on your plan and pay for extra cards. See Overage charges for extra gift cards.
- Upgrade for the season on a monthly plan, then downgrade afterwards. Upgrade before the busy period starts. See Upgrading or downgrading your plan.
- Switch to annual billing, where the whole year's allowance is available up front and the plan costs 20% less.
Common questions
Do voided gift cards count toward my allowance?
No. Voided and deleted gift cards don't count.
Do bonus gift cards count?
Yes. A bonus gift card from an automation is a new gift card, so it counts. Bonus credit added to a card the customer already has doesn't count. See Bonus gift card or bonus credit?.
Does topping up an old gift card count?
Not if the card is still active. A card counts once, when it's first activated. The exception is a top-up that brings back a card that had been voided, deleted or expired: it counts again in the billing period it's reactivated.
Do imported gift cards count?
Cards imported during your free trial don't. After the trial, imported cards with a balance usually count in the billing period you import them. Contact the Wrapped team before a large import.
Does a card count once for each sales channel it's in?
No. A gift card counts once, however many sales channels it syncs to.
What happens when I reach my allowance?
Nothing stops. Gift cards keep working and syncing, and each extra card is charged at your plan's overage rate. On monthly plans, extra cards appear on the next month's bill.
Can I see how many gift cards I've used?
Settings › Plan and billing doesn't show a running count of activations. Its Charges table lists what's on your next invoice, including extra gift cards once you're over your allowance.
