You can upgrade or downgrade a monthly plan at any time from Settings › Plan and billing, and the change takes effect straight away. Wrapped keeps your gift cards in sync whatever plan you're on, as long as your sales channels stay connected. When you move to a plan without marketing features (Basic), your active automations are turned off. Bonus gift cards and bonus credit you've already issued stay usable. After upgrading again, you turn automations back on yourself.
Change your plan
- Go to Settings › Plan and billing (open it). Only the account owner sees this tile.
- Under Plans, choose Monthly or Annually · save 20%.
- Select the button on the plan you want, for example Choose Pro. Basic is shown as Base.
- Wrapped confirms "You're now on the Pro plan." (or the plan you chose).
If you already pay for Wrapped by card, selecting a plan's button changes your subscription immediately. Check you've picked the right plan and billing frequency before you select it.
Billed through Shopify? If Plan and billing shows Billed through: Your Shopify bill, selecting a plan opens Shopify, where you approve the new charge. Your plan changes when you approve it.
Upgrading
- The new plan takes effect straight away, including its larger gift card allowance, lower overage rate and extra features.
- Upgrades are prorated: you pay the difference for the rest of your billing period.
- Pro features such as marketing automations, campaigns, giveaways, API keys and integrations are available immediately.
- Automations that were turned off when you last downgraded stay off. Turn on the ones you want again from Marketing › Automations.
Downgrading to Basic: what happens to Pro features
Your account moves to Basic's features and allowance as soon as you downgrade.
| Feature | What happens when you move to Basic |
|---|---|
| Gift cards, sales channels and syncing | Nothing changes. Gift cards keep working and syncing while your sales channels stay connected |
| Web store, branding, emails, wallet passes and reports | Nothing changes. These are on every plan |
| Marketing automations | Active automations are turned off. Bonus gift cards and bonus credit already issued stay usable. After upgrading again, turn automations back on manually |
| Campaigns and Giveaways | The pages show an upgrade prompt, and you can't create, change or pause campaigns or giveaways. Gift cards they've already sent stay valid |
| API keys and the Wrapped API | API access is on Pro and above only. On Basic you can't create, edit or disable API keys |
| Integrations such as Klaviyo and Loop | On Basic you can't turn these integrations on or off or change their settings |
| Gift card allowance | Basic's allowance and overage rate apply: 50 gift cards a month and $0.50 USD for each extra card |
| Sites | Basic covers up to 3 sites |
Before you downgrade
Because you can't manage Pro features once you're on Basic, tidy them up first:
- Campaigns and giveaways: finish, pause or turn off any scheduled campaigns and active giveaways you don't want to run.
- API keys: disable any API keys you no longer use. If a system depends on the Wrapped API, stay on Pro or higher.
- Integrations: disconnect integrations such as Klaviyo or Loop that you don't want connected.
- Automations: note which automations are active, so you can turn them back on if you upgrade again.
Upgrading for a busy season
On monthly plans you can upgrade for a busy period, such as November and December, and downgrade afterwards.
- Upgrade before the busy period starts, ideally at the start of a billing period, so the whole period uses the higher allowance and lower overage rate. Your billing period is shown under Billing period on Plan and billing.
- Run your promotions. Automations and campaigns are available as soon as you upgrade.
- Downgrade when the season is over. Downgrading turns off active automations, so wait until your holiday promotions have ended.
For example, if you usually sell 40 gift cards a month on Basic but 450 in December, Pro costs $99 plus 250 × $0.40 = $199 for December. Basic would cost $49 plus 400 × $0.50 = $249.
If your busy months are predictable every year, compare this with annual billing, where the whole year's allowance is available up front. See Plans and pricing.
Switching between monthly and annual billing
Use the Monthly and Annually · save 20% switch on Plan and billing to see the plans for each billing frequency, then choose a plan.
- Monthly to annual: you're charged for the year in advance, the price is 20% lower, and your allowance becomes a yearly allowance (for example, 2,400 gift cards on Pro).
- Annual to monthly, or to a lower annual plan: annual plans are paid a year in advance, and the prepayment isn't refunded when you downgrade. Contact the Wrapped team before you change an annual plan so the change is timed the way you want.
