Every Wrapped plan starts with a 14-day free trial. You start it by choosing a plan and entering your card details. You aren't charged until the trial ends, and if you cancel during the 14 days you pay nothing. Gift cards you activate or import during the trial don't count toward your gift card allowance.
Start your trial
Until you choose a plan, the dashboard shows a banner: "Start your 14 day free trial to start selling and accepting gift cards in-store and online." During sign-up you can also choose a plan on the Choose your plan step, or select Skip and do it later.
- Go to Settings › Plan and billing (open it), or select Choose plan on the banner.
- Choose Monthly or Annually · save 20%.
- Select the button on the plan you want, for example Choose Pro. During sign-up, the button says Start free trial.
- Enter your card details on the secure Stripe checkout page. Nothing is charged today.
- You return to Wrapped, which confirms "You're now on the Pro plan." (or the plan you chose).
While you're on the trial, the status next to your plan on Plan and billing shows Free trial.
Only the account owner sees Plan and billing. If your Wrapped subscription is billed through Shopify, you approve the plan and its 14-day trial in Shopify instead of entering card details. See Billing, invoices and failed payments.
What you can do during the trial
- Use every feature of the plan you chose. For example, a Pro trial includes marketing automations and the Wrapped API.
- Connect your sales channels, set up your branding and web store, and turn on gift cards.
- Import your existing gift cards. Imports during the trial are free: they don't count toward your allowance.
- Test your setup. Delete any test gift cards before you launch so they stay out of reporting. See Testing gift cards before you go live and Removing test gift cards before you launch.

Gift cards during the trial
Gift cards activated during your trial, including imported cards, don't count toward your gift card allowance and are never charged as overage. Counting starts when your trial ends. See How the monthly gift card allowance works.
If you're moving an existing gift card program to Wrapped, import your existing cards during the trial. If you need to import a large number after the trial has ended, contact the Wrapped team before you import.
When the trial ends
- Your card is charged for your plan: the first month on monthly billing, or the first year on annual billing. Both are charged in advance.
- Your first billing period starts, and gift cards activated from then on count toward your allowance.
- You don't need to do anything to keep going. The trial converts to your chosen plan automatically.

Cancel during the trial
If you decide not to continue, cancel before the 14 days are up and you won't be charged.
- Go to Settings › Plan and billing.
- Next to Invoices and payment, select Manage. This opens the Stripe customer portal.
- Cancel your plan in the portal.
When your subscription ends, your Wrapped account is cancelled and Wrapped stops syncing gift cards. See Cancelling Wrapped: what happens to your gift cards.
Common questions
Do I need a credit card to start the trial?
Yes. Billing details are taken up front so the trial converts to your plan without interruption. You aren't charged until the trial ends.
Will I be charged if I cancel during the trial?
No. Cancel any time during the 14 days and you pay nothing.
How long is the trial?
14 days, on every plan.
Do gift cards I create during the trial count toward my allowance?
No. Gift cards activated or imported during the trial don't count.
Can I try Pro features during the trial?
Yes. Choose Pro or Plus when you start your trial to use marketing automations, campaigns, giveaways and the Wrapped API.
What happens to my test gift cards when the trial ends?
They stay in your account. Test cards activated during the trial aren't charged, but delete them before you launch to keep them out of reporting. See Removing test gift cards before you launch.
Can I test online checkout during the trial?
Yes, but Shopify development stores don't allow gift cards at checkout, and there's no sandbox that does. Test online redemption with a small real redemption on your live store, then correct it. See Testing gift cards before you go live.
