A promotion banner is a coloured strip across the top of your web store that highlights an offer, such as "Buy any gift card and get 20% bonus credit", or a notice like a delivery cut-off. You add banners in Web store › Settings › Promotion banners. A banner appears as soon as you save it, and you can have several at once.
Add a banner
- Go to Web store › Settings. (The section appears once Stripe is connected.)
- Under Promotion banners, click Add banner.
- Fill in the form. A preview at the top shows how the banner will look.
- Click Save. The banner shows on your store straight away.

| Link (optional) | A web address. Makes the whole banner clickable. The link opens in a new tab. |
| Link text (optional) | A call to action shown as a button on the banner, such as "Shop now". |
| Show on your store | Untick to keep the banner saved but hidden. |
| Customers can close it | Adds a close button. Once a customer closes the banner, it stays hidden for them in that browser. |
Where banners appear
Banners show at the top of your store's home page and on product pages. When you have more than one, they stack in the order shown in Web store › Settings.
Edit, reorder, hide or delete a banner
In Promotion banners, each banner shows as Showing or Hidden. Click ⋯ next to a banner to:
- Edit it.
- Move up or Move down to change the order.
- Delete it. It comes off your store straight away.
To hide a banner temporarily, click Edit, untick Show on your store and save.
Common questions
Can I schedule a banner to start or stop on a date?
No. Add or show the banner when your promotion starts, and hide or delete it when it ends.
Does the banner create the offer?
No. A banner is only a message. To give a discount, create a coupon; to give bonus gift cards or credit, set up an automation. See Discount coupons for your web store and Holiday promotion recipes: buy a gift card, get a bonus.
I closed the banner while testing and now I can't see it. Is it gone?
No. Customers can close it hides the banner only in the browser where it was closed. Open the store in a private window to see it again.
