Yes, your web store can be shown in another language. Choose English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese or Dutch, and Wrapped fills in the store's built-in text in that language: menus, buttons, the cart, checkout, the gift form, the balance checker, the order confirmation and error messages. You can also change any of that text word for word. The store shows one language at a time; customers can't switch languages.
The text you write yourself isn't translated: product titles, descriptions, details, terms, option names, banners and your store name. Write those in the language you want customers to see.
Change your store's language
- Go to Web store › Settings and, next to your web address, click Languages. This opens Web store translation settings.
- In Change language, choose the language.
- Confirm with Yes, change language. Every field on the page is reset to that language's standard text, and any custom text you saved before is removed.
- Click Save.
- Click View to check your store.
Click Save after changing the language. Until you save, parts of your store can still show in English.
Change the store's wording
You can change any built-in text, in any language, for example to say "Buy a voucher" instead of "Add to cart", or to match your brand's tone.
- Go to Web store › Settings › Languages.
- Find the text in its section: Navigation, Shopping Cart, Footer, Gift Modal, Common UI Text, Product Page, Balance Checker, Order Confirmation or Error Messages.
- Edit the fields you want. "You have unsaved changes." appears at the top.
- Click Save.
Some fields can't be left empty, such as the Gift Cards and Check Balance menu items, the shopping cart title and checkout button, and the gift form's title and save button. If one is empty, saving shows "Please fill in all required fields".
Common questions
Can customers choose their own language?
No. The store shows the one language you've chosen.
Are the gift card and voucher emails translated too?
No. Emails and PDFs use the wording you set for them. Edit them in your language. See Web store emails.
Is the card payment form translated?
The card details form inside checkout is provided by Stripe, and its wording isn't edited on this page.
I changed the language and my custom wording disappeared. Can I get it back?
No. Changing the language resets every field to the new language's standard text. Re-enter your custom wording and click Save.
Do I need to translate my products?
Yes. Product titles, descriptions, details, terms and option names show exactly as you wrote them. Edit them in Web store › Products. See Create gift card products for your web store.
