The check balance page is a web page where customers enter their gift card code and see the balance, the expiry date and the code. Every account has one, and it's always up to date with Wrapped. Gift card emails link to it with the customer's code already filled in, and you can link to it or embed it on your own website. With the new branding it takes your brand's colours and font, and you edit only its wording.
What customers see
- A title, subtitle, a code box and a button. Customers can type their code or use the scan button in the code box to scan the barcode or QR code with their phone camera.
- When the code matches a gift card: the balance, the expiry date (only for cards that expire), the code, and a Check another card button.
- When it doesn't match: your "code not found" message.
The link in gift card emails (the Check your balance link, or {{view_balance_url}}) opens the page with that card's code already entered, so the balance shows straight away.
If Shopify is connected and a code isn't in Wrapped yet, the page checks your Shopify store. If the card exists there, Wrapped imports it with its balance and shows it. See Bring existing Shopify gift cards into Wrapped.
Change the wording
- Go to Branding › Designs (open).
- Under Customer pages, select Check balance.
- Edit the text. The preview on the right switches between Find and Details to show the part of the page you're editing.
- Select Save. You see "Check balance page saved."

The balance itself is always shown. You don't need a placeholder for it.
Colours and font
The page uses the colours and font from Branding › Brand. See Set up your brand.
If the page was styled in the classic editor, it may still have its own colours. The editor then shows "This page uses its own colours instead of your brand." Select Use my brand to switch it to your brand. Until you do, changes on your Brand page don't reach it.
Share the page
The Share card in the editor has everything you need:
- The link: your page's address, with a copy button. It looks like
https://manage.wrappedgiftcards.com/pc/check-balance/followed by your account ID. - View page: opens the live page.
- Get embed code: code to paste into your website where you want customers to check their balance. It embeds the page in a frame 600 pixels high and full width. The frame allows the camera, so the scan button works on your site too.
Common places to use it: a "Check your balance" link in your website's menu or footer, a page on your online store, a QR code on printed cards or a sign at the counter.
On Shopify
Create a page in your Shopify admin, paste the embed code into the page's HTML, and publish it. Step-by-step instructions are in Add a gift card balance checker to your Shopify store.
Classic branding
On the classic branding, open Branding › Designs and select Customize on the check balance page. The classic editor also has colour and font settings. Get embed code and View Page are on the same card.
Common questions
A customer's code says it isn't found. Why?
Check the code for typos, and that it's a card from your account. Codes that were never imported into Wrapped aren't found (except Shopify cards, which are checked and imported). After five codes that don't match from the same internet connection, further unknown codes from that connection aren't looked up for 10 minutes; a real code still works during that time. Does the page show vouchers?
It finds any card by its code and shows its balance. For vouchers without a value, use the voucher's own email and PDF instead.
Can I show the customer's transactions on the page?
No. The page shows the balance, expiry date and code only.
Does the balance update straight away?
Yes. The page reads the current balance in Wrapped each time a code is checked. A balance changed directly in a sales channel outside an order isn't picked up by Wrapped. See How balance changes sync between Wrapped and your sales channels.
Can I use my own domain for the page?
The page lives on Wrapped's address. To show it on your own site, use Get embed code.
Why does the page look unstyled?
Refresh the page. If it still looks wrong, check it isn't using its own colours (see above), then contact the Wrapped team.
