Zapier integration

Connect Wrapped to thousands of apps with Zapier. How to add the Wrapped app in Zapier with your Zapier API key, the gift card events Zaps can react to, creating gift cards from a Zap, and what counts toward your allowance.

Updated September 19, 2026

Zapier connects Wrapped to thousands of other apps without code. A Zap can react when something happens to a Wrapped gift card, for example posting a message to Slack or adding the recipient to a CRM, and a Zap can create Wrapped gift cards when something happens in another app, such as a form being submitted. Zapier uses the Wrapped API, so it's included on the Pro plan and above.

Connect Zapier

    1. In Wrapped, go to Settings › Integrations and API keys and click Install on the Zapier row.
    2. In the Zapier dialog, click the Wrapped app link under step 1. It opens Zapier, where you accept the invitation to use the Wrapped app.
    3. Copy the 2. API key from the dialog.
    4. In Zapier, create a Zap and choose Wrapped as a trigger or action app. When Zapier asks you to connect your Wrapped account, paste the API key.

The Zapier API key is separate from your private API keys and doesn't appear in the Private API keys list. Anyone with this key can create gift cards on your account through Zapier, so don't share it outside your Zapier account.

The Zapier row shows Installed once a Zap that uses a Wrapped trigger has been turned on.

React to gift card events

A Wrapped trigger in Zapier receives the same gift card events that the Wrapped API sends to webhooks:

EventSent when
Gift card updatedA gift card is issued, or its balance changes, and Wrapped sends its gift card notifications
Gift card giftedA gift card is delivered to a recipient as a gift
Gift card reminderA balance reminder is sent for a gift card
Gift card voidedA gift card is voided
Gift card expiredA gift card expires

Each event includes the gift card's code, balance and initial value (as numbers and formatted with your currency), currency, status, recipient name and email, buyer name and email, expiry date, gift message, whether it's promotional, and links to the check balance page, wallet passes and printable PDF. The WebhookTopic field tells you which event it was, so add a Filter step if a Zap should only run for some events.

When you set up the trigger, Zapier loads your five most recent gift cards as sample data so you can map fields into later steps.

Events are only sent while your Wrapped subscription is active. Balance adjustments made through the Wrapped API don't send an event.

Create gift cards from a Zap

Use the Wrapped create gift card action to issue a gift card when something happens in another app. You can fill in:

  • the recipient's email address and name
  • the gift card balance (in your account's currency)
  • a gift message and internal notes
  • your own gift card code (leave it empty and Wrapped generates one in your code format)
  • an expiry date (leave it empty to use your default from Settings › Gift card rules)
  • a unique ID, so the same Zap run can't create the card twice
  • whether Wrapped should send the gift card email

Gift cards created by Zapier are:

  • marked promotional, with the note "Created via Zapier"
  • added to every connected sales channel, like any other gift card
  • counted toward your monthly gift card allowance. Set your Zap's filters carefully, because a Zap that runs more often than you expect creates more cards. See How the monthly gift card allowance works.

Before you turn the Zap on, run a test with your own email address as the recipient and check that the gift card email is sent (or not) the way you want. Void the test card afterwards; voided cards don't count toward your allowance.

Trigger an automation from Zapier

If you want Wrapped to decide the reward, create an automation with the API event trigger in Marketing › Automations. A Zap can then send that event name to the Wrapped API using Zapier's Webhooks by Zapier action with a private API key. See The Wrapped API and Marketing automations.

Stop or disconnect Zapier

Turn off or delete the Zaps in Zapier. A Zap that's turned off doesn't run, even if Wrapped still sends it events. Gift cards already created by Zapier keep working. If you think the Zapier API key has been shared with someone it shouldn't have, contact the Wrapped team; see Getting help from the Wrapped team.

Common questions

Is Zapier available on the Basic plan?

Zapier works through the Wrapped API, which is included on Pro and above. See Plans and pricing.

Can Zapier post to Slack when a gift card is sold?

Yes. Use a Wrapped trigger and a Slack action, and add a filter on the event type if you only want some events. See Slack notifications.

Can a Zap redeem or adjust a gift card balance?

Not with the Wrapped app's actions. A developer can do this with the Wrapped API's adjustment endpoints, which Zapier can call through Webhooks by Zapier. See The Wrapped API.

Why didn't my Zap run for a balance change?

Events are sent when Wrapped sends its gift card notifications. Adjustments made through the API don't send one, and nothing is sent while the subscription isn't active. Check the Zap's history in Zapier too.
