The Gift cards report

What the Gift cards report shows, which cards it includes (activated in the date range, not hidden from reporting), what each of its 26 columns means, and how to filter it by customer email and export it.

Updated September 19, 2026

The Gift cards report lists every gift card activated in the date range you choose, one row per card, with its values, current balance, status, where it came from and who it was for. Use it to review sales by channel, location or staff member, check promotional cards, and export your card list. Open it from Reports › Gift cards (open).

Which cards are included

  • Cards activated in the date range. The range filters on each card's activation date, not the date the record was created or the date it was last used. Choose All time to see every card.
  • Every source: cards bought in a sales channel or your web store, issued in the dashboard, generated in batches, imported, issued by automations, campaigns or giveaways, and refunds to gift card.
  • Not cards hidden from reporting. See Hide a gift card from reporting.
  • Not deleted gift cards: deleting a card removes it from reporting. See Void or delete a gift card.
  • Not cards that haven't been activated yet, because they have no activation date.

Rows are sorted with the most recently created cards first. The data updates about every 2 hours; see How often reports update.

Filter by customer

Type part of an email address into Filter by customer email. The report shows cards where the recipient's email or the buyer's email contains what you typed.

Common questions

Why isn't a card I sold today in the report?

Reports update about every 2 hours. Also check the date range covers the card's activation date, that the customer email filter is empty, and that the card isn't hidden from reporting. See A gift card or change is missing from a report.

How do I see a card's full code?

Open it with the Giftcard dashboard link. The report only shows the ending of the code.

Does the report show what the customer paid?

No. It shows the card's value. What was paid, including any discount, is on the order in your sales channel. See Revenue, voids and discounts in reports.

How do I list only paid cards, not promotional ones?

Export the report and filter on Is promotional and Reason type. See Promotional gift cards and bonus credit in reports.

Why does a voided card still appear?

Voiding brings the card's balance to $0 and disables it, but keeps the card and its history, so it stays in reporting with a current balance of $0. Deleting a card removes it from reporting.

Can I see every redemption for a card?

Use The Adjustments report, which lists each balance change, or open the card's timeline.
