Connect Lightspeed Restaurant L-Series

How to connect Lightspeed Restaurant L-Series to Wrapped - authorize Wrapped, turn the sales channel on, ask Lightspeed Restaurant support to add Wrapped to the "Loyalty" payment option, and test with a $1 gift card.

Updated September 19, 2026

To connect L-Series, you authorize Wrapped from Settings › Sales channels, turn the sales channel on, and then email Lightspeed Restaurant support to add Wrapped as a payment option under the "Loyalty" button on your POS. Once Lightspeed has done that, test with a $1 gift card.

How L-Series works with Wrapped

L-Series doesn't hold your gift cards. They live in Wrapped, and staff reach them from the POS payment screen:

  • Staff tap Pay, choose the "Loyalty" payment option, and the Wrapped gift card screen opens.
  • A customer must be added to the receipt before staff can sell or redeem a gift card.
  • When staff add a gift card or a gift card payment, Wrapped notes it against the open receipt. Nothing changes in Wrapped until the receipt is paid and finalized. Lightspeed then tells Wrapped the receipt is paid, and Wrapped creates the card, adds the funds or deducts the redemption, and syncs the new balance to your other sales channels.
  • Wrapped sets up the order notification with Lightspeed automatically when you connect, so you don't need to request it.

Before you start

  • You need to be an Owner or Admin in Wrapped, and be logged in to Wrapped in the same browser.
  • You need a Lightspeed L-Series login that can authorize apps.

Step 1: Connect L-Series in Wrapped

    1. In Wrapped, go to Settings › Sales channels and select Add sales channel.
    2. Choose Lightspeed Restaurant (L-Series).
    3. Sign in to Lightspeed if asked, and select Authorize application.
    4. You're returned to Sales channels in Wrapped, where the new L-Series sales channel is listed. If you haven't finished your Wrapped profile yet, you're asked to do that first.
    5. Turn on the switch next to the L-Series sales channel. Wrapped ignores receipts from a sales channel that's turned off.

Step 2: Copy your company ID and server

    1. Select Settings on the L-Series sales channel.
    2. Copy the L-Series company ID and the L-Series server. You'll send both to Lightspeed.

Step 3: Ask Lightspeed to add Wrapped to the "Loyalty" button

Email Lightspeed Restaurant support at restaurantsupport@lightspeedhq.com:

Hi, I'm [your name] from [business name]. Please add Wrapped as a payment option under the "Loyalty" button on my L-Series account.

Business name: [your business name] L-Series company ID: [your company ID] L-Series server: [your server]

When Lightspeed confirms, the "Loyalty" payment option on your POS opens the Wrapped gift card screen.

Step 4: Test with a $1 gift card

    1. On the POS, sell a $1 gift card and finalize the receipt. See Staff guide: selling a gift card in L-Series.
    2. In Wrapped, go to Gift cards › All gift cards and open the card. Its timeline shows it was purchased in a Lightspeed Restaurant (L-Series) order.
    3. On a separate test receipt, redeem the $1 card and finalize. See Staff guide: redeeming a gift card in L-Series.
    4. Check the card's balance is now $0 in Wrapped.
    5. Delete the test card so it stays out of reporting. See Removing test gift cards before you launch.

Common questions

Gift card sales or redemptions aren't showing in Wrapped

Check these in order:

  1. Was the receipt paid and finalized? Nothing syncs until it is.
  2. Is the sales channel turned on in Settings › Sales channels?
  3. Was a customer added to the receipt?
  4. Has Lightspeed added Wrapped to the "Loyalty" button? Staff must sell and redeem through that screen.
  5. Was the connection authorized? If the sales channel shows as disconnected or your Lightspeed login changed, select Add sales channelLightspeed Restaurant (L-Series) again and authorize. This refreshes the existing connection and sets up the order notification again.

Receipts paid before you connected aren't picked up. Use Check orders on the sales channel to see which receipts Wrapped has received. See A gift card wasn't created for an order.

Can a receipt include both a gift card sale and a gift card payment?

Use separate receipts. At the moment, when a finalized receipt contains a gift card sale or top-up, Wrapped doesn't also record a gift card redemption on that same receipt.

What if we void or refund a receipt that included a gift card?

Wrapped processes paid receipts, so check the gift card afterwards. If its balance isn't right, open the card in Wrapped and use Adjust balance, or void it. See Adjust a gift card's balance and Void or delete a gift card.

Can customers use a gift card bought in L-Series somewhere else?

Yes. The card lives in Wrapped and is synced to your other connected sales channels once the receipt is finalized.

What happens to L-Series gift cards if our Wrapped subscription ends?

L-Series has no gift cards of its own to fall back on: the cards and their balances are held in Wrapped. When the subscription ends, Wrapped stops recording L-Series gift card sales and redemptions. See Cancelling Wrapped: what happens to your gift cards.
