Wrapped doesn't print gift cards, but you can use any card printer. Wrapped's preferred printers are Kwikcards for New Zealand and Australia and Plastic Printers for North America and the rest of the world. Before you order, generate the card codes in Wrapped and send the code file to your printer, along with clear barcode instructions.

Both can help with card design and make sure your barcodes or QR codes work with your scanners. Pricing, minimum orders and delivery times are set by the printer. You can also use a local printer.

Order printed cards
- Check your code format. Make sure the codes Wrapped generates suit every sales channel you use, for example 16 digits only if you use Square. See Gift card code format and each platform's rules.
- Generate the codes. In Gift cards › Batches, create a batch with a value of 0 and the number of cards you're ordering. See Generate gift card codes for a printer.
- Export the codes. When the batch is Completed, click … › Export codes (CSV).
- Send the file to your printer with the barcode instructions below.
- Test a proof. Ask for a sample card and scan it at your register and on your check balance page before approving the full print run.
- Sell the cards when they arrive. Each card becomes active when it's loaded with value. See Using physical gift cards with Wrapped.
What to tell your printer
- Print one code per card, using the Code column of the file.
- Each card's barcode or QR code must contain exactly that card's code as plain text: not a web address, and no extra characters.
- Use a barcode type your scanners can read. For codes with letters, use Code 128 or a QR code. EAN-13 only works for numeric codes. Many merchants print both a QR code and a 1D barcode.
- Print the code in readable text as well, so staff and online customers can type it.
- Don't reuse or renumber codes, and don't print codes that aren't in the file.

Common questions
Does ordering cards cost anything in Wrapped?
Generating the codes is free, and $0 cards don't count toward your gift card allowance until they're loaded with value. The printer charges for printing.
Can I use the cards I already have?
Often, yes. See Keep using the physical gift cards you already have.
Can the printer make up its own codes?
Only if you then import those codes into Wrapped and they meet every channel's rules. It's simpler to generate the codes in Wrapped and send them to the printer.
Can I print cards myself?
For paper cards, a batch can produce a printable PDF with one page per card (up to 500 cards). See Batches: create many gift cards at once.
